Dear Reader ,
Thank you for taking the time to read this edition of The RenewaNation Review magazine . We have chosen to focus most of the articles in this issue on a defense of the Christian faith . All around us today , biblical Christianity is under attack , but God has graciously given us record numbers of powerful defenders of the Christian faith who can help us articulate Christian beliefs in deep and meaningful ways . In reality , there are very few new arguments being raised against the knowledge of God , but Satan continuously repackages many old ideas to new , unaware audiences .
If we give our children and young people good arguments against Satan ’ s lies , most of them will embrace the faith and will not spend years wandering in the wilderness of rebellion and false ideas . Like never before , adult Christians must take advantage of the many resources God has provided us with . It all starts with a regular intake of God ’ s Word . Then , we must read , listen to , and engage with the best apologists God has given to the body of Christ at this time . A number of those excellent apologists have written articles for this magazine .
Peter instructs us in 1 Peter 3:15 , “ In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy , always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you ; yet do it with gentleness and respect .” We read in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 , “ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds . We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God , and take every thought captive to obey Christ .”
Often , we feel inadequate when it comes to defending the faith , and not every Christian will feel comfortable debating atheists . However , as we consistently listen to the best arguments for Christian truth given by excellent apologists , we slowly but surely gain more confidence in speaking the truth and asking unbelievers great questions that will help them think through what they believe .
The days of sitting back and allowing only pastors and other church leaders to defend the faith are over . Each of us must engage in this great battle for truth and influence our small part of the world to know and follow the ultimate source of truth , Jesus Christ .
