F ounder’s Pen from the Dear Reader, Recently, I spoke to a group of several hundred pastors and their wives. For some reason, I often find pastors the most challenging to communicate with when it comes to the importance of giving children a Christian/biblical worldview. When they grasp the implications of what I’m saying it often brings them to a place of decision that requires major change in their churches, and this seems to make many of them uncomfortable. However, on this day, it was different. At the close of my speech, they rushed to my table and scooped up all 450 magazines I had brought to the event. They were anxiously waiting in line to request more magazines and talk with me. One pastor after another asked me if Renewanation could help them start a Christian school. A number of pastors told me they were already in the process of starting a school but needed leadership and coaching. I have experienced similar responses in other places lately, and this leads me to believe there is an awakening happening in America. I don’t know if it’s the drastic slide into immorality we are seeing or the frightening political landscape, but something is causing American Christians to re-think their long-held beliefs about how we should pass on the Christian faith to our children. Perhaps it’s the overwhelming statistics that show we have lost a large majority of the 78 million millennials who were born from 1980-2000. Whatever the reason, I am grateful that God is leading more and more Christians to the conclusion that if we are going to save the next generation, we must be very intentional about passing on a biblical worldview. To do this, we must regain access to the hearts and minds of our children during their K-12 school years. Thank you for taking the time to read The Renewanation Review. In every issue, we strive to present you with help- ful and challenging articles that make the case for biblical worldview education. After you have read this issue, we encourage you to pass it on to a friend or a young family. Perhaps something they read will lead them to give their children a biblical worldview education, and as a result, the world will be impacted for Christ for decades to come.
