ON SMALL BUSINESS
H
arvested soyabeans can now be used to produce
products I mentioned above. Why not try to sell
soya milk, tofu or soya burger patty to your friends,
neighbors or relatives? Procedures on how to make these
and the cost are widely available in the web or through the
Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural
Research. Make sure that cleanliness is observed as soya
products can easily be contaminated by germs. And tell your
customers to consume them within 3 days (refrigerated).
And if you’re not into selling, but are a tokwa-lover like me,
then you can purchase soyabeans and use them for you and
your family’s food. That way, you’re sure that what you put
into your family’s mouth is safe.
These are the things I learned during the seminar.
Whenever I visit the wet market and see piles of tokwa,
even if I’m tempted to buy, I try to refuse and assume that
those tokwa are no longer fresh, crawled on by pests, and
may contain harmful chemicals. I’d rather buy organic
soyabeans and turn them into my favorite tokwa. More
power to Sustainable Agriculture!
