In 2016, Governments in western Canada have made pretty steep commitments to renewables. Alberta government has committed to generate as much as one-third of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 - which is about triple today’s levels SK government aims to generate 50 per cent of its electricity capacity from renewable sources by 2030; double the capacity of Saskatchewan’s current renewable electricity portfolio.
