“ New technologyinsurgery , along with cutting-edge innovation in immunotherapy and tumor genetics , isreally helping us to treat and manage gynecologic cancers ,” says Nimesh P . Minimally invasive surgery has been found tohave comparableresultstoopensurgeryinthe treatment of uterine cancers , withthe benefits of smaller incisions and less recovery time .
The team at Englewood Health has also implemented newstandards in immunotherapy foradvanced ovarian cancer based on clinical trial data . Since most ovariancancers arediagnosed at alater stage , these treatment options are extremely beneficial , and are leading to outstanding long-term survival and success rates .
Most importantly , arriving at the right course of treatmentstarts with detection and diagnosis . “ Every woman , no matter her age , should know the warning signs and symptoms of gynecologiccancer . If notfor you , then forthe women around you ,” says Dr . Nagarsheth . “ Problems such as postmenopausal bleeding , persistent nausea , vomiting , and abdominal discomfort should neverbeignored .
