But how can we be sure that these radio waves will find their destination without being confused or interfered by other radio waves around whether of other Bluetooth networks — you ' re not the only one there ! — or other systems using radio waves ? To complete any Bluetooth communication between 2 devices , the devices choose a specific frequency out of the ISM band , like a language through which they can communicate , but these transmitters change their frequency 1600 times / sec , which makes it nearly impossible for any two devices to transmit waves of the same frequency at the same time , and so , it makes interference by other devices ' transmitted waves almost impossible , and even if it happens , the interference will last only for a fraction of a second , for 1 / 1600th of a second to be exact . This technique is called " Spread-spectrum frequency hopping technique ".
Bluetooth doesn ' t only connect 2 devices ; in fact , it could connect up to 8 devices at the same time . You can imagine yourself as some emperor controlling 7 states under your supreme authority , did this go a bit cheesy ?! Well , let ' s make it more authentic !
