MOVE AND WHERE? In 1947 Uncle Red (boss man) bought mills up in Oregon. He provided cabins to live in and a little store for the employees. Grandpa had to move for the job. When they got to Coos Bay Grandpa worked building logging roads for a lumber company. Dewey Jr. and his brothers bought property in Philomath a little while after Grandpa bought a mobile home and moved it out to his son’s property where he lived the rest of his life. Dewey Jr. and his brothers, with the help of Grandpa’s money and teaching, started a wonderful company called Stokes Construction. Grandpa taught his sons how to build logging roads from his experience. The family business was a success with the help of family it’s still around working hard.
