SUMMER BODIES are made in winter’
so they say, I say so is your skin. Your
outer beauty is at times a reflection of
your inner health. There are several
remedies that one can to do take care
of their inner beauty so it reflects on
the outside. Spring is known as Detox
season in more ways than one – out
with the old and in with the new.
If you are not ready with your summer
body – do not despair you can always
start NOW with some detox drinks to
cleans out the old to feel your new
fresh.
DETOXING
Detoxification improves ones energy,
helps with weight loss, improves ones
skin, improves sleeping habit and
generally it promotes long-term
healthy changes. When I was growing
the popular detoxers were Brooklax and
Caster Oil – if you don’t know what I’m
referring to then you’re too young lol.
The 21st century has liberated some of
us and enlightened us with natural
detoxification methods – infused water.
Lemon slices in water was the first
trend in the infused water trend, since
then a selection of vegetables, fruits
ad herbs have become select
ingredients that treat various ailments.
This infused water assist in cleansing
various organs in the body – the idea is
to cleanse these organs of all the
toxins that have accumulated the whole
of winter.
Imagine keeping your winter hand
bag through to spring – it will be too
heavy to carry around, essentially
you need to get rid of some winter
essentials and lighten your bag load
for spring – a detox works in the
same way. Detoxing allows your body
to release toxins and these are
flushed out using some infused
water.
Infused water is any water that has
either a combination of a vegetable,
fruit and a herb. Most of us love
flavored drinks and that why we
drink sodas, fruit juices etc. Infused
flavored water provides a healthy
alternative for us to flavor our
water. For example we have read
about the health benefits of fruits
and vegetables, infused water
includes herbs. Why this addition,
herbs offer drinkers more than
flavour they have great restoration
and healing power. They prevent
disease and promote wellbeing
Do not be overwhelmed by the thought
of vegetables or fruit in water – its
delicious. One thing to note when
starting your detox journey, it is
important that you let the fruit,
vegetables and herbs sit in the water
for more than two hours before
drinking so all the flavour can be
released. Share your recipe with us on

movement.
