COD VS BATTLEFIELD. Game on! Gaming and Tech – CoD vs. Battlefield You would be hard pressed to find a gamer who hasn’t at some point been asked to choose between Call of Duty and Battlefield. Indeed these are now the two largest franchises in the world of first person shooter games, having BY:TARRIN SKEEPERS taken over from the industry grandfather Medal of Honor. In all honesty making people choose between these franchises is like making them choose between PSL teams. Everyone has their favorite and it’s unlikely that anything you say will change that. With that being said, I have been a fan of CoD since the early days of the PS2 but my dabbles with Battlefield on PS3 really made me think. While it is tough to compare the franchises in their entirety, I will admit that CoD had the upper hand in the beginning but Battlefield took the lead in the age of the next generation consoles. The addition of dynamic maps and the overall presentation and precision of battlefield on PS3 stands out for me, and CoD, though they try, fall just a bit short in general. The rivalry was ignited when both franchises released their latest editions earlier in 2016. 7
