The President Pays Back the Money
Our President Jacob Zuma has paid
back the money. However Zuma
detractors won't let the issue rest.
The latest is that the president is
being asked to pay back the money he
used to pay back the state. National
Treasury recommended that JZ pay
back R 7.8 million but Zuma’s critics
are questioning the legitimacy of the
bank and the loan the he received
from VBS Mutual Bank that he used
to pay back the money. I’m not a big
fan of the man either but maybe now
it’s time to move on to bigger issues
that need to be dealt with by our
government??? I mean he has paid
the money mos. The country is
struggling to provide adequate
service delivery, jobs for our youth,
up to standard medical
infrastructure, free tertiary
education. Hai man.. . Ayivalwe

Metros
Following on from the dynamic Local
Government Elections – yes those
elections – the Super metros
Tshwane and Johannesburg are now
lead by the Democratic Alliance
Mayors Solly Msimang and Herman
Mashaba. These two mayors’ are
making waves and as a new broom
does sweeping away what the old
administration left unclean. These
mayors are making their presence
felt and tackling an issue that is on
everyone’s lips: Corruption. The
Mayor of Tshwane has already
initiated an investigation into
various tenders granted by the
previous administration worth nearly
R4 billion these include R3 billion
smart meter tender, a R380 million
Wi-Fi contract, a R300 million
vehicle fleet contract and a R200
million broadband contract have been
identified as being potentially the
product of corruption. Whatever his
political mandate, the new Mayor is
showing leadership and decisiveness
that will hopefully that lead the city
to even greener pastures.
