REENTRY SERVICES DIVISION HOUSING There were two new facilities added to the THOR directory—The Extension, Inc., with two locations (one for men and one for women) in Cobb Co. Both locations have received accreditation from the Department of Community Health and CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and are considered recovery residences. See below for more information. The Reentry Services Division is pleased to announce the launch of our NEW THOR DIRECTORY! Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive, yet concise, up-to-date information regarding housing and recovery resources to agency staff, stakeholders, and the public. Below are three of the most important areas of improvement: Distinction: There are TWO very distinct classifications in the THOR Directory. This becomes especially important when an Officer, a court official, or someone in the general public wants an RSAT program, as opposed to a facility that specializes in "room and board" only. Printable: The directory is now printable. We have had requests from some DCS staff as well as the Department of Corrections and other state agencies to have the ability to provide a hard copy to offenders and others who are in need of recovery and housing resources. Questionnaire: For detailed information about each provider please review the Facility Questionnaire which has a WEALTH of information about each individual provider. You simply need to click the facility name in blue in order to access the linked document. T H E E X T E N S I O N , I N C . The Extension, Inc. is a licensed residential recovery program serving homeless men and women of Cobb County who suffer from alcohol and other addictions. In addition to substance abuse counseling, they provide residents with educational opportunities and life skills training. After more than 25 years of service in the Cobb community, they have built strong relationships with local businesses and organizations, relationships they call upon to place residents in jobs within weeks of their arrival.
