RECIDIVISM REDUCTION UNIT
COUNSELING
VIRUAL SERVICES
With the implementation of phase ll DCS COVID-19 Ops
Plan on 3/12/20, the Recidivism Reduction Unit
developed and provided virtual training to approximately
170 counselors and managers in three sessions over a 2-
day period. Virtual counseling services began on March
30, 2020 and will be instrumental in providing services to
high risk supervisees during this time of crisis.
POSTER CONTEST
Counselor Brandy Hamby from the Appalachian Judicial
Circuit shared a poster contest they had at the GFDRC.
Each participant created a poster of what their future
looks like and the winner was able to show hers to Judge
Worcester during court!
NARCAN TRAINING
Athens DRC counselor Shelia Hill, along with Ali
McCorkle from the Athens Clinic/Georgia Overdose
Prevention, held a Narcan training for participants and
staff at the DRC on March 2nd. Everyone in attendance
received a free Narcan kit!
