North Georgia Homeless Summit
On August 19th, CCCSO Kristopher Ayers, Community Coordinator Tonya White, and CSOIII Heather Ashley sat on a panel at the North Georgia Homeless Summit hosted by Ninth District Opportunities, Inc. The topics discussed were barriers to establishing stable and emergency housing options for people under supervision and the issues presented when homelessness persists. The DCS panelists highlighted our efforts as an agency to work towards successful outcomes for persons under supervision and how those efforts translate into increased public safety.

Hurricane Dorian Special Ops
DCS considers it a privilege to serve during a time of natural disaster. We deployed several IRT teams to the areas in Georgia impacted by Hurricane Dorian. Collaboration in times of emergency management is essential. Our Special Operations staff was present at the State Operations Center working alongside state and local agencies to ensure an efficient response to our fellow Georgians during this time.
