TORCH RUN FUNDRAISER
DCS has been taking part to help send Special Olympics Georgia ( SOGA ) athletes to the state games and fund other important parts of SOGA ’ s operation .
CSO III Chan Strickland of the South GA Circuit , recently sold $ 580 worth of SOGA merchandise . The sale of SOGA Torch Run hats and running shirts help to fund athletes for the Special Olympics .
Chan is kindhearted and very humble . She stated , “ I am a " doer ". I am not always in a position where I can do a lot , but I have a genuine need to do what I can .”
Please join us in congratulating Chan on a job well done soliciting merchandise sales for a worthy cause . Her efforts have truly touched the lives of many .
Many offices took part in " Cops on Donuts " events to help raise money for the Special Olympics in Georgia .
TEAMDCS STEP CHALLENGES
To lose weight , become healthier , or maintain our personal wellness , we should take at least 10,000 steps each day .
For 21 days , Wellness Unit challenged DCS employees to participate in the DCS “ 10,000 Steps Challenge ”.
To track your steps , employees used tracking device ( Fitbit , Fuel band , Garmin , Apple watch etc .,) an app on your mobile phone , or a pedometer . Start the journey of becoming healthier and receive rewards for your efforts along the way !
Kathy Whitaker , Central Office / Special Ops , is the contest winner ! Kathy recorded 430,718 steps in 21 days .
