Reentry Services ' mission is to reduce crime through the implementation of services that are developed for each individual to increase the likelihood of a successful transition into the community .
Community Coordinators Torsha Lennear
Dougherty Circuit
Ms . Lennear not only serves as the Community Coordinator for the circuit but also provides assistance at the local Community Impact Center . The Community Impact Center has 52 organizations that provide services and resources . Since starting , Ms . Lennear has distributed food bags , clothing vouchers , assisted with filling out employment applications on-line and referred individuals for health insurance .
Chris Walker
Coweta Circuit
Walker participated in Communities of Tomorrow , an event focused on getting food boxes to seniors in our community . Mr . Walker delivered 80 boxes to the individuals under supervision and gave information brochures about senior programs available in the community . Mr . Walker always makes himself available to the officers and the community and ensures resources are available to meet the needs of those we seek .
Sharon Almon
Stone Mountain Circuit
Metro Green Recycling is one of Atlanta ’ s premier construction and demolition waste recycling facilities . This employer is eager to work with our population and offers a sustainable living wage as well as considerable promotional opportunities . Ms . Almon assisted Mr . Smith , a man who was incarcerated for 25 years , obtain employment . Mr . Smith was offered a full time position with benefits .
Kelley Saxon
Southern Circuit
The City of Valdosta launched the Valdosta on Demand transportation system , thanks to the contributions of Ms . Saxon . Mrs . Saxon assisted in the formation of a partnership with the Valdosta United Way to form Ride Valdosta . Valdosta-On-Demand is a public , on-demand transit service . United Way started the initiative with the purchase of 500 rides that will be distributed to provider agencies in the local community .
