RECIDIVISM REDUCTION UNIT
SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING
RRU hosted their quarterly Specialized Mental Health Training , an 18-hour course designed for CSOs and Counselors who work closely with individuals that have an identified mental health illness and / or co-occurring disorder . RRU is committed to providing enhanced training that allows participants to learn about evidence-based treatment models , motivational interviewing skills , psychotropic medications and their side effects , and supervision requirements in order to effectively supervise all individuals .
CLAYTON DRC CELEBRATED RECOVERY MONTH
The Clayton Day Reporting Center celebrated Recovery Month in conjunction with the Paula Crane Center on Friday , September 24th .
The participants played Bingo for gift cards and door prizes and enjoyed a lunch catered by Chickfil la and a competitive game of Kickball against " The Crane ."
The CDRC took home the victory , and players received a $ 25 gift card from Walmart . The event was a great success .
LQBTQ + SAFE ZONES
District 9 Gwinnett Lawrenceville office supported safe zones for the LGBTQ community . These signs show that they are acknowledged and are in a secure nonjudgmental environment . This increases the chances of one asking for help and support when needed .
