Trauma-Informed Care Training
In 2019 , RRU and the Training Division collaborated to offer Trauma-Informed Care Training as part of our strategic plan to become a Trauma-Informed agency . This training was implemented in BCSOT in February 2019 and has been taught regionally across the state for the past two years . Trauma history has a significant impact on behavior and many of the individuals under supervision have experienced trauma . The goals of this training are to increase understanding of trauma , create an awareness of the impact of trauma on behavior , and develop trauma-informed responses . Not only is the training beneficial in dealing with individuals under supervision , it benefits our staff as well . We are excited to announce that we have trained over 1700 staff as of 3 / 31 / 21 . Regional training has been completed and make-up sessions are being scheduled for those who were unable to attend previously .
