My Greatest Memory 15 members share their memories of the last 15 years Soror Cheryl Plater-Vinson, (2004) Line: Seven Heavenly Virtues S oror Griena Knight and I worked together at Miles College and she asked me if I was interested in helping her bring a new sorority to Miles College. She shared the information that she received with me and I thought what an amazing opportunity for our campus. I can tell you, the application process wasn’t easy, and our Three Founders are VERY thorough in their process. We shared the information with young women on our campus. When it came to our intake wekeend, we had 4 undergraduate women from Miles, Griena, myself, and one woman from Atlanta, Mary. We had no idea what to expect that weekendand we truly bonded. We were without the benefit of the wonderful cooking—there was a lot of fast food, casual dining, and grocery store runs that weekend in between sessions for providing sustenance. When it came to our “gift”, we made a midnight run to get a block of concrete. We thought that the concrete would symbolize our solid beginning as a new sorority. Little did we know that we would go down as the first line for Delta Psi Epsilon and that we were making history for our group. I wish we had taken more pictures that weekend and captured more of who we were I’ve watched the growth of the sorority over the last 9 years and I truly see God’s blessing on this organization. Keep looking for the women of God and they will find us. | Soror Cherese Gregory, (2010) Line: The Chosen Ones, Alpha Omega One of my greatest Delta Psi Epsilon memories is during my membership intake program (MIP). It was towards the end of the process, I thought I was going to give up, I didn’t think I was going to make, I felt I had spread myself too thin. I was working full time, taking a marketing class for my MBA, recovering from fibroid surgery, active in church ministries, active in community organizations, and learning ALL of this info for Delta Psi Epsilon. I remember studying material all day on Saturday, going to early service on Sunday, and then still trying to retain info for a session that afternoon. My head was pounding and I was tired but I had to press on. I took the time to pray...”God, let your will be done...maybe this is not the time for me to join DPsiE.” A peace came over me. So, I figured that meant my journey towards the sorority was coming to an end. I took a nap with the intention of contacting my DP when I woke up to tell her I was done...But GOD!!!!! I woke up from my nap and ALL the material just flowed from my lips!!! I was not taking the time to allow HIM to order my steps and HE provided me with some much needed rest. HE knew that I truly believed in everything I was doing but I wasn’t leaving time for me. Personally, I can say that the MIP truly brought me closer Soror Cherese Gregory (center) and her line sisters, Soror Coffey and Soror Redmond to GOD and allowed me to learn a lot more about Him but also a lot more about myself . God and I had numerous daily conversations. | Soror Reitta Riley, (2007) Line: A.C.T.S. of G.O.D., Beta I never believed neither had experienced a true sisterhood until becoming a member of Delta Psi Epsilon Chris-
