I know it's tough for some people to understand the roles of the safety position on a football field. It's easy to criticize the position and the moves made by the coaching staff when you don't understand how the positions are formatted and what role they play.

RYAN PETTIES
Huge safety that can stick his foot in the ground and burst. Physical in his game. Goes for strip or breaks up passes with big hits. A good athlete with average speed for size. Better in zone coverage because of long legs. , smooth, or fluid. Decent change of direction for a big safety. Long strider that can cover ground down the field or in cross field pursuit. Will compete. High cut and leggy defensive backs . He is more of a grabber and shoulder hit tackler.

instinctive and active player that hustles in pursuit. Gets downhill quickly on run support and reacts well in space. Would like to see him make more plays because he is always around the ball. Solid coverage as a Cover-3 safety. . Good body control with sure explosive wrap and finish tackles. He’s had a few classic hit, lift, and carry tackles in his Spartan career
