The Somerset Bears will be entering their 7th season with Major League Football. The Bears have made the playoffs every year reaching the Conference Championship game 4 times only to be turned back from their ultimate goal of the elusive MLF Gold Ball!

The Bears will be bringing back over 90% of their 2015 team, adding new talent to a group that is already “built to win”! Quarterback Emmanuel Cabassa will once again have the Keys to an explosive offense that was capable of scoring from any point on the field! Backs Cheese, Calello, Blakey and Thomas combined to form a lethal group of elusive runners! A receiving core of Frazier, Roman, Linton, Miller and others provided Quarterback Cabassa with a variety of sure handed targets! The Offensive line of Thiel, Gladden, Snyder, Carmen, Menonna, and Linares were the unsung heroes that provided running lanes and maximum pass protection!A domineering Bears Defense that registered 5 shutouts during the 2015 campaign will for the most part return in tacked. Defensive standouts Simmons, Torres, Damon, Cooper, Petties, Daniels, Miller and company provided the Bears with a overpowering defense that was considered one of the best in the MLF.

The Bears will once again be in the hunt for an MLF Championship in 2016! The Bears will look to the season with the eagerness of “unfinished business”! Bears Head Coach Lou Morra expects improvement in all aspects of the game! Not only in the Offensive and Defensive sides of the ball, but in the Special Teams play that many times determines the outcome of games! The Bears Staff expects for all players to be fully committed to team play! “We are looking to cultivate a family atmosphere full of competitors that set high standards and who consistently strive for an ascending level of expectations!”
