Communicating with Love By this time everyone has heard of our new Pope, Francis. He has been very much in the news and has been sharing many thoughts and encouragement— especially on how much God loves us. When we are very aware of God’s love for us, we recognize our call to love others. Easier said than done? Right you are! Living out that love can become easier with good communication. Pope Francis offers this thought to help the process: “We are challenged to be people of depth, attentive to what is happening around us and spiritually alert. To dialogue means to believe that the other has something worthwhile to say and to entertain his or her point of view and perspective. Engaging in dialogue does not mean renouncing our own ideas and traditions, but the claim that they alone are valid or absolute.” Powerful! What a difference it would make to sincerely listen to those we encounter during the day. Giving up the idea that we are always right is difficult, but what an adventure it would be to see things as someone else sees them...Might be fun! So let’s give it a try! Effective communication helps our patients, and will bring us closer as we work together as TEAMPROVIDENCE.
