Easter is a great holiday to allow us to celebrate our faith and Jesus. In addition, another special part of Easter and of all holidays is the food.
Having a big Easter meal is a tradition in many families. Some of the most popular Easter entrees are stuffed lamb, honey butter ham, and smoked pork. Lamb is popular because it is the typical Easter meal, and the Bible suggests that it represents Jesus’s sacrifice. Also popular on Easter for appetizers or snacks are deviled eggs, spinach puffs, and hot cross buns. There are many desserts that can be served for Easter, like a cake shaped as the Easter bunny, cupcakes shaped as Easter eggs, carrot cake, or the famous Easter bread.
While adults favor the big dinner meal, for kids, an important part of Easter is all the candy they receive. When kids wake up on Easter morning, there is normally a basket full of candy or little eggs full of candy and money waiting for them. Popular candies are jelly beans, peep marshmallows, Reeses eggs, and chocolate shaped as a bunny.
Even though everyone enjoys the delicious dishes and treats that accompany the Easter holiday, the most important part of the day is celebrating and remembering our Lord and Savior, Jesus, and the sacrifices He made for us.
