Some highlights of our work in 2019
• Through the bursary programme more than 60 students received comprehensive funding across various universities and institutes of technology .
• Twenty-five graduates who were placed in various positions within the business , successfully completed their 12-month Graduate Internship Development Programme .
• Our partnership with Rise Against Hunger Africa saw us supply more than 100 000 meals that were packaged by PPS staff members and university students as part of the Employee Volunteerism and University Support Programme .
• More than 1 000 students from various academic institutions were provided with skills , tools and mechanisms to allow them to transition smoothly to the work environment . This was done through the Learned , Engaged , Accelerated , Professionals ( LEAP ) work-readiness programme .
• The development and launch of the PPS Young Leadership Forum ( YLF ), a platform where 12 talented employees under the age of 35 were selected to undergo a 12-month leadership programme and provide strategic input on specific projects and business challenges .
• We built on a partnership that was formulated in 2018 with the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute ( TMALI ), by enrolling our graduate interns of the Graduate Internship Development Programme and the Young Leadership Forum . We also had the privilege of hosting former president Thabo Mbeki at our Head Office in Johannesburg .
• Our collaboration with GetReadySkills , an innovative case study-based mentorship programme , has continued successfully .
