Tell us about your early childhood . Where do you come from ?
I was born in Turffontein , Johannesburg . I started my education at Laerskool Voorbrand . However , in grade two , my family moved to Meyerton when my parents divorced . I was eight and my mom cared for my two sisters and I . We returned to Johannesburg for standard one . I attended Lena van Velden School and later matriculated from Kensington High .
When did you start working at PPS ? How did that come about , and what did you do ?
I started working at PPS in 1978 . Initially , I worked in the pensions department , where we manually typed data on blue cards that were then filed . Later , I moved to the information department , now known as the Customer Experience department . I primarily dealt with death and cancellation claims . Over the years , I transitioned to various roles and currently work in the Intermediary Services department .
What have been the biggest obstacles in your life ?
One of the biggest obstacles I have faced throughout my life is my struggle with speaking in large groups . It has been a constant challenge for me ; and even today , I find it daunting to do .

What have been the biggest opportunities in your life and what did they allow you to do ?
One of the most significant opportunities I was fortunate to have , was the chance to travel to India for a week . This trip was an opportunity to experience a different country and contribute to the testing of a new system . It was an enriching experience
