The Annual Pilgrimage to
Our Lady of Walsingham

report on a wonderful day
F
or those of us who have come into full communion with
the Catholic Church in the Ordinariate, Walsingham is a place
of great significance in our spiritual journey. So much of our faith is
bound up with this small
town in North Norfolk,
that it is a surprise to us
that many Catholics do
not know about Our Lady
of Walsingham, never
mind having visited her!
The annual Pilgrimage to
Our Lady of Walsingham
is always a special event
for the Ordinariate. This year was no different. They came from
the surrounding towns and villages, from Birmingham and the
Midlands, from London and the South Coast, and from Torbay,
Wales and Scotland.
Starting with Sprinkling at the site of the original Holy
House in the ruins of the ancient Priory, we set out in
procession to walk to the Slipper Chapel and the Catholic
Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.
After some time for lunch, Mass was celebrated in the
Chapel of Reconciliation by Mgr Keith Newton, our
Ordinary, and some twenty priests. As it was the Solemnity
