THE P RTAL December 2015 Page 17 News from the UK Groups Anglo-Portuguese Ensemble Concert   The evening of November 6th, 2015 saw the 2015/2016 season opening concert of the Anglo-Portuguese Ensemble at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory, Warwick Street, Central London.  The string ensemble that performed is the result of a collaboration between the Portuguese Embassy in the United Kingdom, the Ordinariate at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory Church Warwick Street and young British and Portuguese musicians living in London.  A most enjoyable repertoire of early works by Mendelssohn, Fragoso and Britten were enjoyed by all in attendance and grateful thanks are extended to the sponsors of the concert, including the Embassy of   Portugal in the United Kingdom, Booth Wealth Management Ltd and Caixa Geral de Depósitos, London.  The opening concert of the 2015/2016 season was a great success and a warm invitation is extended to all who would like to attend the next concert on 10th December, again at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory Warwick Street - starting  at 19:30 with tickets costing only £10, either in advance or on the door. The Christmas Concert will include works by Corelli and Schoenberg and once again promises to be a fantastic event.   The Anglo-Portuguese Ensemble and the current season of concerts promises to be a wonderful venture that aims to generate a culture of fellowship and friendship and is helping to enhance and continue the re-building of the historic links between the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory in Warwick Street and the Portuguese Embassy in London. For further information on the ensemble and the Christmas Concert in addition to concerts taking place in the new year please visit the website:  www.apensemble.org Procession through The Borough Parishioners at the Church of the Precious Blood at The Borough, London Bridge, took to the streets again last Sunday, with a procession to mark the Feast of Christ the King, the final Sunday of the Church’s year. Preceded by a Papal flag, and with Fr Chrisopher Pearson carrying the Blessed Sacrament beneath a canopy held by four members of the parish, the processaion moved along Southwark Street past the Borough Market, and down the Borough High Street. The Procession finished with Benediction back in the church. The procession caused a few heads to turn along the way and leaflets were distributed to passersby explaining what was happening.
