The Revd Paul Benfield keeps us up to date with affairs
The elections
to the General Synod of the Church of England have taken place and Her Majesty
the Queen will attend a service of Holy Communion in Westminster Abbey on 24th November before
inaugurating the new Synod in Church House. At this ceremony, the Supreme Governor makes a short speech
which will, no doubt, observe that the many hours spent by the last two synods discussing women bishops
has come to fruition. But I wonder if the gracious speech will mention sexuality, which will be the topic most
likely to divide this Synod.
