Lightner Museum will open its
doors free of charge on Saturday
Sept. 26, as part of Smithsonian
magazine’s 11th annual Museum Day
Live!
On this day only, participating
museums across the United States
emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian
Institution’s Washington DC-based
facilities, which offer free admission
everyday, and open their doors for
free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.
The Museum Day Live! Ticket is
available to download at Smithsonian.com/museumday.
Visitors who present the Museum
Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues for one day only. One ticket is
permitted per household, per email
address.

‘Art in Bloom’ at Lightner Museum
The Garden Club of St. Augustine
will host “Art in Bloom,” a floral design presentation inspired by Lightner Museum fine art pieces during
St. Augustine’s First Friday Art Walk
held from 5-9 p.m. on Oct. 2.
This event is free and open to the
public.
Imaginative floral artistry pairs
with world-class art in the Lightner
Museum’s Grand Ballroom Gallery
for this first-time event.
Eighteen unique floral designs will
highlight the talents of the members
of the Garden Club of St. Augustine.
Many of the artists will be present to
speak about their creations placed
near the museum pieces that inspired them.
The floral creations will remain
on display for the remainder of the
weekend and can be viewed with
general admission to the museum.
St. Johns County residents always
enjoy free admission to the museum
with proper identification
Attend this free event and enjoy
the social setting of the museum
after dark.
