Delicious Destinations hosts annual tour of taste
Kelly H. McDermott
The Recorder
Delicious Destinations presented its
annual culinary tour de force — with a
French twist this year. The event is an
annual three-day celebration of food
and wine featuring acclaimed chefs from
some of the South’s most iconic restaurants and resorts. Celebrating its 14th
year at the Ponte
Vedra Inn & Club,
the event raised
funds for the St.
Vincent’s Foundation and supports
its critically important community
health outreach
programs.
Event organizers
report that more
than $300,000
were raised at this year’s event. All of
the proceeds will benefit St. Vincent’s
community outreach programs, which
provide access to free medical care
for underprivileged children, men and
women throughout the area.
This year’s theme was “Tour de
France,” and the celebrity chef featured
at the annual luncheon that kicked off
events was be Chef Jean-Pierre of Ft.
Lauderdale.
The events began on Thursday, Sept.
10 with a celebrity chef reception and
luncheon at the Ponte Vedra Inn &
Club Conference Center. This event
was followed by a private chef reception for major donors and sponsors on
Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Inn &
Club. Guests at this reception enjoyed
a culinary selection prepared by Executive Chef Hermann Muller of the Ponte
Vedra Inn & Club. The main event was
hosted on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7
p.m. at the Ponte
Vedra Inn & Club.
In addition to food
and wine pairings,
the event included
silent auctions and
drawings for items
including spa and
restaurant gift
certificates, catered
dinners, weekend
getaways and other gifts.
The St. Vincent’s Foundation is a
faith-based charity that strives to meet
the health needs of the sick and poor,
continuing a journey by The Daughters
of Charity that began almost 100 years
ago in our community. To learn more,
