Monochromatic gray outfits
Jill Stonier
Mandi Kelloway
The studio is located at 520 Market St.
in the Village of Palencia. It is outfitted
with makeup and hair stations, with a
cozy sitting area for family and friends
to wait, while the transformation takes
place for weddings and special events.
The studio is also available for private
bookings for girls’ nights out or other
events.
Stonier offers makeup lessons to anyone who wants to learn the application
of makeup along with how to choose
the right makeup. Contact Stonier at
(904) 599-2272 or www.jillstonier.com
to make an appointment. Contact Kelloway at (904) 993-0870 or www.onceuponastylist.com to make appointment.
Monochrome outfits have been popular for a few years and the trend isn’t
going anywhere. If you normally drape
yourself in head-to-toe black, consider
emerging from your comfort zone by a
few yards to embrace the monochrome
gray trend. It looks great in suiting, and
your gray pieces can always be broken
up and combined in new ways come
springtime.
Red plaid
Although I am not sure that I ever saw
red plaid become unfashionable as a staple, many fashion journalists are touting a
red plaid comeback this season. It’s great
news if you already bought into the trend
Skinny scarves
Skinny scarves and bizarre turtleneck
dickies were surprisingly ubiquitous this
year on runways. I’m going to advise you
to wait on the turtleneck dicky trend (let’s
re-evaluate it next year, shall we?) but
skinny scarves are a nice way to transition into the fall and I suspect they will
still be around in the spring. Invest in one
or two to carry you through the seasons
and into next year.
Textured tights
Like red plaid, I never really thought
textured tights had disappeared—but apparently they’re “back” this year in full
force. From large fishnets to sweet Swiss
dots, a huge number of designers added
texture to their designs by layering in eyecatching tights.

during past seasons—and if not, it may be
time to come around to it. But rather than
the grunge-inspired plaids of seasons
past, think more towards traditional and
tailored plaids (a la Burberry).
