MENKER PETS
In a galaxy far, far away... The gang’s all here with the Menker pets this
year. Sammy will trick-or-treat as Yoda, Segundo is Darth Vader and
Sofie is Princess Leia. The three Pomeranians are a true family, as Sofie
is the mother of both Sammy and Segundo. Jennifer and Tom Menker
are their proud parents and sent The Recorder this winning submission.

Cockapoo.

In Ponte Vedra, even our
pets like to get in on Halloween fun – and these snazzy
costume-bearers were invited to
show their stuff this month as
part of our annual pet costume
contest.
We received photos of a dozen
of our readers’ furry friends donning their very best (though not
very spooky) getups.
Competition was stiff this year,
and our staff has spent plenty
of time poring over your submissions, trying to decide
which wagging tail and
smiling face would take
home the gold this year.
In the end, we loved
each and every submission – but a winner must be
named!
The Menker pets – Sammy,
Segundo and Sofie – are the winners for this year’s contest with
their timely Star Wars-themed
triple-part Halloween costume.
The three pups have earned
parents’ Jennifer and Tom Menker
a trip out on the town.
The Menkers will have their
choice of tickets to the Jacksonville Zoo Spooktacular (which
runs through the end of the
month), normal Jacksonville Zoo
tickets or tickets to the
Alhambra Dinner Theatre.

Carlton is a border collie mix who lives in
Ponte Vedra Beach with his parents, Lana
Bandy and Dale Ratermann.
MOCHA
Mocha, a 12-year-old, seven-pound Pekingese/Poodle mix, draws inspiration from the
Far East for her costume this year. Mocha lives
with her mom, Anita Kommnick.
