Beach cruiser giveaway highlights Bike MS
Ponte Vedra Beach
resident Susan
McDuff was the
recent winner of
a beach cruiser
bicycle drawing
at Bogey Grille.
The month-long
fundraiser helped
raise awareness
and money for
the North Florida
Chapter of the
National Multiple
Sclerosis Society
and Bike MS, an
annual two-day
bicycle ride from
Ponte Vedra Beach
to Daytona Beach
and back. This
year’s ride, the
29th, featured
more than 1,600
cyclists who fundraised nearly $1.5
million. Bogey
Grille will again
be the site of the
Mar. 7 National MS
Awareness Week
Kickoff and Silent
Auction, hosted
each year by the
local Big Banana
cycle team.

Wilson states, “I am drawn to
the feeling and light of the coastal
south which helps to define my
subject matter. I am a representational artist, but more than just
representation, I want the viewer
to see the abstract beauty of the
forms and the subtle play of light
on the surfaces.”
Wilson will be introducing some
of his newer seascapes, as well as
showing his humorous side, with
linoleum cuts and fanciful oils that
celebrate the funky, slightly offbeat
nature of our beach communities.
Like many painters before him,
Russ Wilson began his career as a
commercial illustrator.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University,
Wilson created work for a variety
of national clients before devoting
himself to his own visions of Florida, past and present.
