COMBINED CADET FORCE 2021 / 22
This has been our first year as a voluntary Contingent and I have been delighted by the commitment and enthusiasm shown by our Fourth Year , Fifth Year and Sixth Form cadets .
Prior to the academic year , our then Third Year were given the opportunity of two off-timetable days filled with snippets of the training syllabus , to show them how much fun the CCF might be and how they may learn new life skills along the way too . 64 Fourth Year cadets started training in September and our committed cadets have made super progress this year .
The training this year has been action packed , with the regular syllabus taking place whatever the weather .
Skill at arms , field craft , navigation and survival form the pillars of our training , and nothing builds resilience in our cadets like practising leopard crawling in blizzard-like conditions . As ever , our officers lead the way and get cold , wet and dirty alongside the cadets .
Exercise First Look was our first off-site training at Driffield Training area , and our Senior cadets loved the challenge and variety of field-craft training , including harbour drills , patrolling at night , and a blank firing exercise .
