SPORT // NETBALL
U13B VII
The season got off to a slow start with a couple of challenging matches in the first two weeks of term , for a team that hadn ’ t played netball for a long time . By our third fixture the girls started to really improve their individual skills of marking and passing , as well as their communication and movement on court with their teammates . The hard work and determination resulted in a draw against Hill House and since then , the girls have gone from strength to strength with four consecutive wins and some brilliant netball being displayed . The girls always turn up to fixtures with a great attitude and keenness to do their best , which has resulted in several wins . Most notably their one goal win against Queen Mary ’ s , which tested their composure and calmness under pressure .
Our defensive unit of Jemima Powell , Effie Shephard and Izzy Holland has been outstanding , and their pressure on the opposition ’ s attack has caused lots of turnovers and chances for us to score . Saffy Levine , Katy Brown , Sophie Williams and Sophie Hope have worked tirelessly in the mid-court to transfer the ball into attack and feed our shooters well .
Charlotte Shephard , Sophie Blight , Lizzie Lane and Alex Willman have rewarded us with some fantastic shooting .
These girls have worked really hard this term and their progression has been truly fantastic . Well done to all , it has been a pleasure to coach this group !

U13C / D / E VII
The U13 girls have been wonderful to coach this term ; they are always energetic and happy to get stuck into the planned activities in games and training . I have seen a real improvement in their individual netball ability as well as their collaborative teamwork skills .
The C , D and E teams have had several matches this term where they have shown resilience and determination against some difficult opposition . A special mention must go to the C and D team who spent an afternoon playing netball at St Peter ’ s , and battled it out to win the Plate Round of the tournament .
Kate Anderson has captained the C team brilliantly and has been instrumental in the team ’ s successes . Well done , girls !

U12 VII
The U12As have had a mixed season of netball , with some brilliant and close performances to go with a mixture of results . We started the season with two heavy losses , but the girls soon turned this round and showed how they progressed . Tight games against Mount St Mary ’ s and Scarborough College ended with the teams sharing the spoils . These performances gave the team a boost heading into our game against Tranby , where we won convincingly 9-3 . Beatrice , Octavia and Emily have worked hard in the defence against some very tough opponents ( who often had a height advantage !) and have improved their marking immensely .
In the mid-court , Lara , Jemima and Alice have been working hard throughout the term to improve their passing and have shown brilliant athleticism . Finally , our shooting trio of Millie , Isabel and Elisa have grown in confidence as the term has progressed , and they have worked well with each other throughout the term .
Well done , girls , the results do not reflect your passion and determination ! Well done .
