LOWER SCHOOL HOUSE CAMP 2021

HOUSE CAMP

Pupils , parents , and staff were as delighted as each other when we confirmed that House Camp 2021 could go ahead . More remarkable was the fact we managed to include the postponed House Camp 2020 ; our Second years didn ’ t miss out !
Both trips included everyone ’ s favourite activity , coasteering , along with a visit to the cinema , the Holy Island of Lindisfarne , a boat trip to the Farne Islands and plenty of time enjoying the beautiful beaches of Bamburgh . The First Years also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Northumberland Zoo , and this was enjoyed by pupils and staff alike .
The Farne Island boat trip is always my favourite activity and , this year , our First Years were lucky enough to see dolphins as well as our usual , muchloved , puffins and seals .
Huge thanks must go to all the staff who took part in the two trips , as well as the support team behind the scenes .
Mr Richard Bond deserves particular mention ; he supported both trips and has been an integral part of the staff team for many years . He retires this year and his calm , assured presence will be very much missed . His impromptu talk on the geography , wildlife , and St Cuthbert of Lindisfarne was a highlight for many this year and I am not sure how we will manage without his expertise in judging the sandcastle building competition next year and beyond .
As ever , our pupils did us very proud – their behaviour was outstanding and the feedback we received from the hotel staff and various members of the public was hugely positive .
