UPPER SIXTH SET THE BAR HIGH
Congratulations to the U6th Ellie-Mae Rooke , Hannah East , Ruby Stainforth , Poppy Young and costume designer Xylia Milsom for their riveting final productions .
As usual , they have set a standard for others to strive for . In their performance of Dancing at Lughnasa they performed with conviction , honesty and subtlety to bring to life the challenges facing a rural Irish family .
It was their own play which caused the biggest stir though . In keeping with School Drama engagement with politics they hit their subject hard and exactly on cue .
Their Brecht-style study of Harvey Weinstein was performed at the same time that he was found guilty and their defiant erasure of his face with the # MeToo logo was shocking , timely and triumphant .
Superb pieces of the highest quality .
