GIRLS ’ HOCKEY

U13A XI

P11 / W7 / D1 / L3
Wow , what a roller-coaster of a season the U13s have had ! We started off with some disappointing results in our first few games which spurred us on to improve . The girls worked hard in training and were rewarded with a fantastic rest of the season .
Some highlights include putting 7 goals past Mount St Mary ’ s and of course our unbeaten tournament at Hymers where we finished top to move on to the North East round after Christmas . It has been fantastic to see each girl improve , especially Maddie Cox and Imogen Spear who had their first run outs with the “ a ” team this season and Ellie Quick too .
Carys Haeney made some outstanding saves throughout the season , often to keep us in the game ! Ella Smith has continued to impress on the left wing and Jess Groombridge on the right . Islay Cunliffe-Lister has been so reliable in defence and is improving with each match .

U13B XI

They have developed fantastically as a unit and have started to understand how to press the ball effectively and their communication has developed which has led to them having a great amount of success this season .
Highlights of the season have been comfortable wins against Silcoates , Mount st Mary ’ s and Ashville the girls played some of their best hockey in these games but also learnt about gamesmanship .
The most challenging games of the season were Hymers and Yarm both games were very close to call and the team work relentlessly hard throughout . The team have worked well on set pieces of play and have learnt versatility in positioning . The girls should be extremely proud of their achievements this season and take this with confidence moving into the 11 a side game next school year . Well Done .

They have all worked hard throughout the season and the commitment to training has enabled them to develop their stick skills and control the ball effectively .
The highlight of the season has to be the fixture against Giggleswick where all players showed excellent versatility and pushed themselves out of their comfort zone . The game was close and challenging but the girls showed a lot of determination to win 3-2 . All the girls should take pride in their achievements this season as they have improved immensely from the start of the season . Well done !

U13D XI

P2 / W1 / D0 / L1
A quiet season in terms of matches for the U13Ds but an exciting season in terms of learning and progression .
With a lot of this team not having played before , it has been a real pleasure to see the team improve their game . A 5-1 win over local rivals St Olave ’ s was definitely the highlight of the season and something the girls can be really proud of . Well done girls , I ’ m sure many of you will continue progressing into next year !
