Most memorable moment : An outstanding team performance against Hymers in which we not only won 3 -0 but played some of our best hockey all season .
Below is part of the match report …… The defence and goalkeeper , Lily Rose Levine , were extremely cool under lots of attacking pressure from Hymers ; their hard work throughout the match ultimately leaving our opposition goalless .
Pocklington ’ s attacking play was very strong . We scored once in the first half , an impressive team try ably converted by Lizzie Wake . A further two goals came in the second half , firstly a wonderful strike from a short corner by ‘ Girl of the Game ’ Evie Parkinson and finally a welldeserved score by Alex Brown .
A brilliant effort by all , and ably led by captain Carmen Brooks .

The jump from seven to eleven a side is huge , and we put early focus on our ability to play the ball accurately and swiftly around a much larger pitch . Man , to man marking , moving on to the ball and strong , steady tackling have also been key points to improve on and I have been delighted to see great commitment and enthusiasm from the team to build on their game , both individually , and as a team .
The U14 girls are a very polite and well-mannered group and we have dedicated time to develop our on-pitch communication and ferocity when attacking and I am very proud of how they have responded to my suggestions .
This team have had a very busy and challenging season and I will look forward to seeing how they progress next year and beyond .

Many schools have been unable to field a B team this year and as a result , the girls haven ’ t had an abundance of opportunity to show their progression and development , individually and as a team . From the opportunities they have had , they have shown resilience and character , through the style of play and ability to get stuck in .
The girl ’ s progression over the term has been excellent with some of them having never played hockey before . I believe with more match play to progress their understanding , they have to potential to do well . Fantastic effort from everyone , well done .
Player of the Season : Laura Spencer
Most Improved : Janice Wong and Louise Tomlinson
