The Heads of Houses and committee
members themselves deserve great praise
for their contribution to the success of the
evening in the weeks leading up to the event.
Head of Faircote House, Emma, and
Joint Heads of Fenwick-Smith House,
Marco and Ernest, led from the front and
chose some inventive prizes for the boarders’
awards.

“Just to say how well the Christmas boarders’
night went. It was great to have a choice in
the menu and the food was awesome for the
occasion. However, the highlight of the night
was having the chance of socialising with
all Houses and staff after the dinner. Really

“As with the summer BBQ event it is
absolutely fantastic to see the entire boarding
community getting together to let their hair
down and enjoy each other’s company,” said

dinner is certainly one of the most eagerly
awaited and enjoyable highlights of the
year. It is a pleasure and a privilege to work
with our boarders. Boarding is thriving at
DOLMAN HOUSE been great, the boys fit-in so well and
it has given parents the opportunity
have their son taken care of allowing
them an opportunity to become more
independent and giving parents the
reassurance that their child can continue
as normal if they are away. We have
seen more parents taking advantage of
this great opportunity and it has added
to the diversity in our home.
Dolman Boarding house is home to the
younger Boarding Boys at Pocklington
School, it is an enjoyable, lively home
and the boys and staff have great fun.
During the week we follow a busy
routine which consists of all the normal
things; watching TV, playing football,
eating and a little prep. The unusual
things in Dolman Boarding are all the
birthday cakes (21 this year), always
having someone to play with, talk to,
and share your thoughts with.
Pocklington School and it was brilliant to see
so many pupils and staff having such a great
time.”
We have enjoyed 2018/19 in Dolman
and I would like to say a huge thanks
to the fantastic boys that we have had
this year and to the staff who never stop
caring and give so much to help the
boys have a wonderful experience whist
away from home.

At weekends we go on some great trips,
sometimes we even go with the girls!!!
This year we have been to Flamingo
Land, Canal walks, Tramlining,
camping at Botton camp, Allerthorpe
Water Park and the Yorkshire mining
museum to mention a few.
We have also seen more boys joining
us for a night or two per week, or for
a few days here and there. This has
