Visit baby elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Our local wildlife is at threat of
extinction from poachers, and those
in most danger include the rhinos and
elephants. We all cry in protest when
an elephant is killed for its ivory, but
how many of us remember the baby elephants left behind? Due to their family attachment, these orphaned baby
elephants often cannot survive on their
own. This is where the David Sheldrick
Wildlife Trust comes in. Today, the DavidSheldrick Wildlife Trust is known as
the most successful orphan-elephant
rescue and rehabilitation program in
the world.
The orphanage is open to the public
one hour a day, from 11am-12pm. It is
located within Nairobi National Park
located off Magadi Road. Come see
beautiful baby elephants up close and
observe their human emotionality first
hand.
Charges: Kshs. 500 (also known as
minimum contribution fee).
