ON SOCIAL MEDIA MARISSA NEW JERSEY Why did you choose to do gymnasics & could you see yourself doing anything else? NORA NEW YORK “ I was actually put into gymnastics because “My worst injury was a torn patella tendon. of my baseball coach. I think I stuck with it because I always have something to learn. I get bored easy so always having something to improve was appealing to me. I feel like I am a decent athlete over all and I used to do other sports. I never played football and I know I am pretty small but I would love to be a running back or punt returner in football. “ MAX MASSACHUSETTS I was fully back in gymnastics about 8 months after surgery. I was only 14 so I completely out of the gym.“ KIRSTEN NEW YORK Did you ever have to move to attend a gym? “I did. I moved closer to my club gym when I was about 9 years old. It was about an hour drive and we wanted to be closer so we moved about 15 minutes away. “ MELISSA DOMINICAN REPUBLIC What was your worst injury & how long were you out because of it? What happens when you have a challenging skill to complete but you just cant seem to get it right? Do you change it out of your routine or keep practicing until you get it to the best of your ability? “ I usually go back to basics. Going back to basics allows me to have a solid foundation for the skill, and then when I go back to the skill it gives me a better chance to make the skill. It depends how bad the skill is. If it gets dangerous or does not fit the routine I may take it out, but if it is just a hard skill I do basics and try to push through and make the skill the best I can. “ When, why, & in what gym did you first start gymnastics? “ I was about 5 or 6 years old when I started because of my baseball coach. He said gymnastics is good for my pitching arm so I joined. I attended Gymnastics Nevada which became the gym I trained at all the way through high school. My parents own it now and have for the last 12 years.“ Check out our ! WE HAD TONS OF GREAT SUBMISSIONS TO THE @officialIGC “ASK JAKE DALTON” CONTEST & THESE ARE THE WINNING QUESTIONS.
