PRINTING INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION
OF THE PHILIPPINES
FIFTY YEARS of distinguished service to the Philippine printing industry is indeed an occasion for rejoicing.
PIAP has many reasons to celebrate its golden anniversary. It has survived the trying years of Philippine society, the martial
law years, the EDSA revolution, the coup d’ etats and the Asian financial crisis. PIAP has built a reputation over the years and
its credibility now allows access to key spots in the government’s machinery where decisions that affect printers are made or
influenced such as in our recent appeal to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regarding its latest ruling requiring “Authority
to Print” on new invoices/receipts.
Another reason for us to celebrate is our securing SEC’s extension of PIAP’s corporate term to another 50 years (SEC
Certificate No. 23696 dated September 2, 2013). I would like to commend the dynamic and resilient efforts of all members
who gave PIAP another vote of confidence as well as our past presidents especially PP Enrique Tansipek and the 2013 Board
of Directors and Officers in making PIAP strong and stable on its 50th year in terms of resources and expertise. We also thank
our development partners: suppliers, government and the general public for being our committed allies and our constant
inspiration to strive for excellence. Together, we can do much more.
Incidentally, I am reminded of the adage that in this fast-changing environment, the most successful organizations will be
those that get to the FUTURE FIRST. The world is ever more connected, transparent, socially responsible, data-driven and
rapid. That scares some people; it excites us. And this excitement is due to the fact that despite numerous setbacks, we
have successfully mounted the 9th Print Philippines Show back to back with the 16th National Printers Convention under
the theme: “Solid and Trailblazing@50”.
I invite everyone to come and visit Print Philippines 2013 Exhibit on September 18-21, 2013 – I guarantee you will Enjoy,
Learn and Benefit More for Better Business.
For the moment, please join me and the Board of Directors, past and present, in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the
Printing Industries Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PIAP) thru prayer and thanksgiving. Let us together implore the
Almighty to grant us many more prosperous years of achievements for the industry that we all love and cherish.
Our legacy is what we do next.
