STYLISH GENTLEMAN
If you need to venture out with colour, keep
them one colour so it easier to match with
other items. The only thing they should
always be is good quality cotton.
Shorts are a tricky one to get right, do stay
clear of ones that you would normally wear
to the gym or on a cycle ride. We suggest you
go for slightly more formal ones, either
partially or fully tailored fits. These can
come in a variety of fabrics, styles and
colours and can really suit your style and
therefore they are easily paired with your
white t-shirt.
As for the fit, they should drop anywhere
between mid thigh to the top of the knee.
With the taller gentlemen, the longer the
shorts, for shorter gentlemen the shorter
shorts. They should not be so tight that you
can’t put your hand in your pocket.
The Beach
Swimwear is a matter of taste combined
with function. If you are a surfing
gentleman or someone that is frequently
doing watersports, then board shorts are the
order of the day. If all you want to do is
stride up and down the beach posing then a
tiny pair of bright yellow speedos are for
you - we jest, no gentleman should be seen
in those, ever. We do mean ever.
We in general, suggest a good pair of
swimming shorts, the fit should be similar
to your normal shorts, though without the

The Formal
No matter where you go on holiday always
take some semi to formal attire, as you
never know what you might do or go or
indeed be invited too.
I went to an all-inclusive resort with my
wife and the restaurant had a policy for
trousers at dinner. They mentioned in the
emails beforehand & on the website. One
the first night we went to dinner a group of
couples were arguing with the Maitre’D &
Manger saying that the men didn’t have
trousers. The resort stood it’s ground and
the men later returned wearing the jeans
they had obviously travelled in. It was 30c
that evening, the gentlemen were a little
uncomfortable in their heavy denim.
Taking a couple of pairs of trousers is a
good thing.
