The Perfect Lady
Jammers
Model: Burak Yildirim
Jammers are a good, sporty style that can lead a
double life. This longer style can work in the
water to swim in, or can double as shorts.
Jammers (or jams) also have the interior liner
and a waist tie to keep the short secure. They
may even have pockets to carry keys and money
when worn as shorts.
Jams will suit a larger man with a longer leg, but
if you’re a smaller man, you will do better in a
shorter swim trunk, so that you don’t appear to
be all fabric in the leg which will diminish your
height and make you look dumpy.
Issues for Larger and Older Men
If men gain weight, or when their skin loses
collagen as they age, rest assured that
Newton’s laws of gravity will be there, and
this can limit your swimwear choices.
Larger, heavier men do well in swimwear
with wider-cut legs in a woven
cotton-nylon fabric that doesn’t “hug” the
body.
For men with bellies, a roomier pair of
trunks will be more comfortable.
Bellied-men tend to push their waistbands
under their stomachs, and when in the
water, this could spell trouble because the
weight of the water can pull them down. Be
sure that your waist tie is tied securely.
Gentlemen should be realistic about their
bodies and aware of how they want to put
themselves on display when in swimwear.
Self-respect should always come first, so ask
yourself about your comfort level when
choosing swimwear.
