The Ultimate Test Of Truth
What of love , that has not , before ; been said Emotions pinnacle ; to which , we rise Cruel knife ; has many a heart ; then bled Does grip the throat ; squeeze water from the eyes
That love , may eat us up ; devour our souls Be that torturers rack ; that breaks our minds Drag our weary feet ; over white hot coals A stake of agony ; its fire blinds
That zenith , of our lifetimes ; work and dreams So all might take respite from nature ' s strife A never ending test ; or so it seems It takes a heart , mind , soul ; though not a life
We ' ll meet its challenge ; to the bitter end Love is a staff ; that ' s true , it shall not bend
