Winter , Love , Kolkata

People in Kolkata have an extra amount of attraction for winter . Winter does not really like to stay for a long time in Kolkata but people eagerly wait for it may be because of its lack that leads people to this desire . What compels inhabitants of Kolkata to love winter is not only for getting a chance to get rid of the dominating summer and its unendurable heat but for getting a chance to emerge themselves in various programmes . The cold in Kolkata is basically enjoyable , its extremity stays for two or three weeks . The most warming event in this time is Kolkata International Film Festival , a centre of reconciliation for film lovers , critics and many other people . A Huge amount of people come outside of Kolkata to join the eve in Nandan , Rabindra Sadan and Academy . The atmosphere of the whole area becomes warm and enjoyable not only for the cinemas from different countries where ideas blend and clash , opinions are made and rejected but of the love and hospitality that people show for them . Affordable foods from different stalls , special tea and a cigarette outside of the Academy and debating over the films while puffing cigarettes and sipping tea create heaven in the place . The other most awaited event is definitely the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet ( Kalam ) that commence on the month of January and lasts for one week in the Victoria Memorial . KALAM is the only platform where different perspectives , opinions , attitudes of the stalwarts over literature , music , film , politics , media , culture and much more blend and clash along with their personal , professional and political thinking .
