Niagara Crew Members Receive Numerous Honors at IC 2013

The STARFLEET Interna onal 2013 Interna onal Conference showed several USS Niagara crew members receiving awards from STARFLEET Academy, including VADM Glen Diebold, RADM Thomas Pawelczak and CMDR’s Joanne Schoenthaler and Je?rey Triz. The theme for this year’s IC was "The Year of the Phoenix", as 2012 was sup? posed to be the year the world came to an end. From the ashes, the phoenix will arise, reborn. As Gene Roddenberry was o en referred to as the Great Bird of the Galaxy (which was also referred to in the Star Trek: New Fron er books by Peter David) and the Phoenix was the name of Zefram Cochrane's ship in Star Trek: First Contact, it was felt that this was a ? ng theme for the Conference.
