Definition : a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy . Another simple and free thing anyone can do is advocate for shelter pets . Support Arlington Animal Services and our rescue community by sharing posts of animals in need on social media outlets . Studies have proved people are more likely to adopt a shelter pet when they have heard positive stories from their friends , family or coworkers . So , please share stories about how your adopted pet has changed your life . Inspire others around you to adopt and be responsible pet owners by spaying and neutering their pets , microchipping , and caring for their pets for the lifetime of the pet . Working together as a community , we will improve the lives of animals .
