Arlington Animal Services has completed their second mentorship with Best Friends Animal Society with the most recent mentorship being focused on fostering ! A successful foster program is an essential part of lifesaving measures for open intake animal shelters . Our mission at AAS continues to be , " Working together as a community , we will improve the lives of animals ." We are so excited to have another way for our community to get involved , give back and help the homeless animals in Arlington !
What kind of animal can I foster : The best part is , you get to pick ! Cats , kittens , puppies , adult or senior dogs . You pick your foster pet and when the time is right for you ! Why do animals need foster care : There are many reasons why a shelter pet may need foster care . Examples include : puppies and kittens too young to go up for adoption , time needed to recover from injury or illness , if an animal isn ' t thriving in the shelter environment , time an animal has spent in the shelter , when the shelter is at capacity for space . What do I need to provide : A healthy and safe environment for foster pets , transportation to and from Arlington Animal Services , socialization & cuddle time to teach foster pets positive pet relationships . AAS will provide you with food , medical care and all essential items needed to care for your foster pet . How do I apply : The process is fast and easy ! Visit
www . arlingtontx . gov / foster and complete the online foster application .
