HAPPY TAILS
What to do if you find a stray pet :
Check for identification : check for a collar and an ID tag . Some pets have a collar with the phone number stitched in or written with a marker . Take a photo and post : social media is a powerful tool in helping lost pets get reunited with their owners . Post a photo of the stray pet on Facebook , including on lost and found pages and neighborhood groups . We also recommend posting on NextDoor . Most stray pets tend to stick close to home and neighbors may also be aware of where the pet lives . Use PawBoost : PawBoost is a free lost and found reporting system . It is like an AMBER Alert for lost and found pets . View https :// www . facebook . com / ArlingtonTXLostPets / for pictures of missing pets . If you do not see the pet you found , head over to www . pawboost . com to create a free FOUND pet alert . Scan for a microchip : take the pet to a veterinary clinic or PetSmart to have it scanned for a microchip ! Microchips are the easiest and fastest way to have pets reunited with their owner .
